Structure:
Tirzepatide selectively binds to and activates both the GIP and GLP-1 receptors, the targets for native GIP and GLP-1.
GIP=Glucose-dependent insulinotropic Polypeptide; GLP-1=Glucagon-like Peptide-1.
Enhances insulin secretion
Improves insulin sensitivity
Decreases food intake and slows gastric emptying
